Vocational Rehabilitation - Basic Electronic Knowledge for Memory Recovery (Part 1)

Assalamualaikum & Salam Sejahtera

I has one case regarding workplace injury, staff from Schlumberger Company with SOCSO scheme contributor. This client is refer to Pusat rehabilitasi PERKESO Tun Abdul Razak, Melaka after wake-up from a few months of comma due to accident.

A brief about this client:

Position: Assisstance Maintenance Engineer
Education & Work Field: Electrical & Electronic
Other: Private and confidential (not to reveal)

As Vocational Trainer, part of my task is to recover back his memory with specific training especially to assess his knowledge in electrical & electronic  and increase his confident level which is the case refer to me on 26 October 2015.

On the first assessment,
His condition is quite worried from my opinion after tested his practical and theory knowledge. My first day of assessment is quite crucial worry especially the recovery duration  given is only 1 week which with current condition is not ready within that duration. Luckily, His treated doctor advised to request if need extension of MC to make his condition in safe for "Return To Work".

In my experience within 5 Day is not satisfied his performance, which is very disappointing with some person(s) in internal committee which didn't know the implication and the risk which is the team call as Multidisciplinary Team. So, i am firm with my decision to acknowledged all even though has objection by a few committee but  they  MUST follow.... so i get my enough duration (more than a month) and very blessed to providing enough training exercise.

Figure 1, exercise to recall his basic knowledge in electronic before further to advance level as shows in Fig.2 which is this client happy because of his memory turning back slowly. First day of training started, this client claim he got back pain on the back head....i am quite worried but in my mind this is good sign for healing process. For  further clarification and confirmation, I discussed with his internal doctor in Pusat Rehabilitasi PERKESO Tun Abdul Razak and treated doctor informed its is a good healing sign of recovery process and i am feel blessed. From that, I plan further strategy to enhance and increase his competencies and knowledge of understanding with increase level of difficulties.

Day by day this client has improve by using the good strategy that i have been plan for him which is his knowledge in electronic still has improving. Further task is to gain his confident level especially when handling with load/ equipment above than 240V/400V by improve his basic electrical fundamental, practical and competencies skill follow the Electrical Act with closed monitoring and supervision before leave him for stand alone task assessment to be observed.
