How To Train Adult Student with Low Education Background or Weaknesses of Human Cognitive (Basic)

Today I want to share one of my client/ adult student around 40+ years old. The issues are this student very hard to understand every single instruction given to him.

I found out, after discuss and asking a few question with this client, he required special treatment for him to understanding for any lesson given to him which is he required the trainer/ teacher sit beside him to teach one by one instruction for him to understand.

For example:
If the lesson is to create a table: The trainer required have another PCs and sit beside him and show step by step to just a create table or any lesson to teach this type of student. This approach is practically in a small number of student. The idea is based on human mind works as shown in the process below:

The correct stimulus should be given with the correct wat to make student easy to understand from the lesson given during class. After that, the student can starts to think of for them can understand the process the lesson they obtained. it’s also greatly useful in helping people to improve their behavior. The best thing about it is that it can easily work together with other approaches to create a therapy that will bring about positive results. That's why the approach use is important to teach the student has learning difficulties by demonstrating the lesson with an easy way to understand especially for adult student and lower education background. Lastly, to assess his understanding, we have to list some stimulus question to get their response to ensure they understand the lesson obtained before the class dismissed.

Pengalaman Mengajar Pelajar 'Traumatic Brain Injury' at SOCSO Tun Razak Rehabilitation Centre, Melaka

Saya adalah pengajar kemahiran yang mempunyai Master in Electrical Engineering dan bertugas di sebuah organisasi yang memberikan perkhidmatan pemulihan  secara perubatan, pemulihan fizikal dan vokasional bagi pekerja yang terbencana di tempat kerja atau yang tertakluk di bawah skim caruman manfaat PERKESO/ SOCSO.

Pengalaman yang sangat mengujakan dan mencabar yang mana saya diterima bekerja di organisasi ini pada Tahun 2014 yang mana pusat ini baru siap dibina dibumi Melaka. Pada mulanya agak takut menerima cabaran ini kerana pengalaman pertama mengajar pelajar Orang kelainan Upaya (OKU) yang disebababkan kemalangan di tempat kerja dsb.

Tahun ini (07/2017), selepas 3 tahun berkhidmat di pusat ini, ingin dikongsikan kesediahan, kebanggaan, kesukaran, kemanisan dan pelbagai perasaan yang tidak pernah saya rasakan sebelum ini.

Untuk pengetahuan semua tidak semua orang yang dalam keadaan normal ingin beralih kepada keadaan orang kelainan upaya... Ini semua dengan kehendak-NYA.

Pengalamana saya selama 3 tahun, terlalu pantas dan banyak kes yang saya terima dari pesakit yang menghadapi 'Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)' iaitua sebagai trainer menggalas cabaran mengajar dan memberi kemahiran kepada mereka ini terutamanya saya yang tiada latarbelakang klinikal. Dengan satu tekad dan semangat motivasi yang telah saya didik dalam diri ini.  Saya kuatkan semangat mengambil semua pelajar TBI supaya diberi kemahiran khusus agar mereka boleh kembali ke alam pekerjaan dan diterima dalam komuniti.

Alhamdulillah saya berjaya melakukannya walaupun belum cukup bagus lagi, dengan tahap sabar yang tinggi yang sebenarnya tidaklah berapa sabar yela bayangkan mengajar pesakit TBI yang ingatan/ memori hilang samada bayak atau sedikit disebabkan kemalangan yang mereka hadapi.

Ceritanya,
bagi golongan pesakit TBI ini, mereka memerlukan perhatian lebih yang mana memerlukan 'one to one session untuk sesi pembelajaran dan pengajaran bersama mereka bagi tujuan pemulihan ingatan mereka kerana kelemahan dalam menerima dan mengingat sesuatu ilmu. Tambahan lagi, mereka memerlukan pengulangan latihan yang dilakukan secara berulang-kali bagi memastikan mereka betul-betul pulih dan paham sepenuhnya atau boleh mengingat semula.

Golongan ini memerlukan bimbingan secara khusus dan mereka sangat dahagakan motivasi dari seorang pengajar supaya meningkatkan semangat dan keyakinan mereka bukan hanya mengajar sahaja. Pengajar juga perlu mempunyai tahap kesabaran kerana yang pasti hari ini yang diajar belum tentu esok mereka akan ingat, ataupun sekarang diajar belum tentu mereka akan ingat di 10 minit kemudian. Berkat kesabaran, insyallah mereka boleh pulih yang pasti peluang perlu diberikan kepada mereka untuk sembuh dan belajar seperti orang lain.

Golongan ini juga, perlu diajar dengan latihan yang lebih ringkas dan mudah paham bagi mereka ingat apa yang dipelajari dan dapat dipraktis semula. Yang penting dalam setiap pengajaran adalah perlu menitikberatkan kualiti pengajaran bukanya produktiviti yang di inginkan.

Fahamilah mereka, selamilah hati mereka,
Mereka adalah seorang manusia biasa yang perlukan perhatian dan bukannya peminggiran yang mereka pinta dari pengajar-pengajar atau bakal pengajar yang mengajar golongan dalam kategeri ini atau seumpamanya. Bantu dan bimbinglah mereka bukannya menjadi pengajar yang memilih pelajar yang bagus sahaja untuk di didik kerana ianya memang sudah bagus tetapi pengajar yang bagus adalah membantu pelajar yang lemah untuk di didik/ dibantu agar menjadi manusia yang berguna pada masa depan Negara.

Experienced Sharing: How I Trying to Learn or Improving My English

Today I want to share my experience how to starts learn English even though I am still in learning process and still not good...but I will improve myself day by day and don't care people around me want to say.... Aku tidak malu untuk belajar english walaupun ada yang kata english ak tak bagus sangat but i have to be confident with myself to talk and writing...believe to yourself

This is the history starts,

Firstly, thanks to my secondary English Teacher if I not mistaken her name is Mrs. Dewi. The only teacher I meet and make me trying to improve my English by her encouraging, motivation of taught.

Still memorized in my head the word from her is "Start To Talk and Writing ... I will give you a mark from your initiate even though your grammar and sentence is not proper".... This word very powerful for me which is very encouraging me to improve my english from nothing to some/ little improvement.

I am very lucky to have this teacher which is has opened my heart to start converse and writing with motivation given and very humble teacher.

This memory i will not forget and now already near to 16 years even though quite late to start  but I am proud with myself,  by starts something from didn't start anything.

Now I'm still keep improving my English from time to time to make it better and confident even though my words/ grammar not so good... Just Do It for Myself and my satisfaction and improvement. Try find out something which can make you to start and improving your self in any area/field.

The Tiring Week 17 March -21 March 2017

Assalamualaikum & Salam Sejahtera

Ouch.....our trip begin from  17/03/2017; 4.30pm...A group of 8 peoples start traveling from Melaka around 4.30pm after office hour attending our friend wedding ceremony on 18 march 2017. So we all drive from Melaka to Muadzam-Gambang-Kuala Terengganu-Kota Bahru, Kelantan. Very tiring journey added I  need to drive from Melaka-Kelantan but quite happy with a few friend accompanied in the same car. We all reach at our Mutiara Penthouse Hotel, Kota Bahru Kelantan around 2.30am on the next day (18/03/2017) around 9 hours traveling with a few stops. After check-in hotel, I just sleep but unfortunately I cannot sleep (just sleep around 3 hours) because the bed too small and have to share with my friend added i'm tired driving alone...a  huge disappointed. 

In the morning, I asking reception counter if they have any room left for me to stay for another one more night to get good rest before travelling back to Melaka. Biasalah kena drive sorang-sorang yang lain-lain takmo drive kan.....

In Morning(18/03/2013), I wake up earlier because cannot sleep. Me and friend those who are wake up earlier going to breakfast at Kopitiam Kita, Jalan Sri Cemerlang, Taman Desa Jasa. Kota Bahru. That place full with crowds mixed race came there to try food. I advise y'all try breakfast at this place, I think it's quite good and variety food in this restaurant. Our group try, Roti Tibab (RM5/set), Roti Stim(RM3/set), Nasi Tumpang(RM4/set), Pulut(RM2.50/set) dan macam-macam lagi. Their specialty is Roti Tibab....Their price is quite expensive personally. If you want to try something different, I recommend it to come here.....Try yeah, 1 good try.

Then, we all go to Rantau Panjang for window shopping near Thailand Border which is quite near from our friend house around 45 minutes. In my personal opinion, their market is like usual and nothing special...heheh but you can try ye....after that we all travel to Pantai Cahaya Bulan known as Pantai Cinta Berahi previously near to Federal Road of Kelantan. We all have our hi tea in there...you all have to try their Ais Cream Kelapa with price RM6/unit and their 'Ikan, and Sotong Celup Tepung etc'.... Total we all have to pay around RM96.00 for group of 9.

On 19/03/2017,

We all start to travel back to Melaka but we all layover at 'Pasar Khadijah at Jalan Buluh Kubu. You all have to try if want to taste 'pelbagai jenis kuih muih Kelantan serta membeli belah barang seperti keropok dan sebagainya...disini juga ada macam-macam benda, so i recommend you all datang yeah...yang pasti lebih besttt dari Pekan Rantau panjang.

Kami bergerak pulang selepas makan dan bershopping....tetapi kami singgah sebentar di rumah kawan kami di Felda Seberang Tayor, Kemaman...untuk makan Nasi Dagang disana...wahhh sedap dapat makan Nasi Dagang...sebab personally aku jarang makan nasi dagang...tetapi mak kawan aku masak memang terbaikkk sampai dua kali tambah.

We all shopping Keropok Lekor dan macam- macam lagi di kemaman....banyak juga lah kami borong terutama akulah serta bergambar juga di pintu Gerbang Terengganu. Selepas bershopping kami pon  bergerak pulang ke Melaka...dan sampai di Melaka sekitar 12.30am (20/03/2017)...dan ada yang kena kerja hari tersebut....tetapi aku masih bercuti sehingga 21/03/2017 sebab kena pergi settlekan urusan peribadi di KL....so aku travel lagi selepas tido beberapa jam secara tepat dalam 5 jam.....sangat memenatkan la.....nasib ada urusan penting jika tidak dah pulun tido terus.....

Master Research Experience

Before this, I am worried to proceed postgraduate studies especially involving in research but with encouragement from my best friend, I apply to further studies .

In the time that i apply for this scholar, all process quite smoothly and faster approval by Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and now, has scholar in MYPHD Industry and MYBrainSc etc.. I am very lucky, when I apply postgraduate studies, I got two offer from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), both university listed in QS World University Ranking. I am decided to choose UNITEN due to the reasonable fees compared to UTM the cost almost RM25K, among private university serve high quality education and trying to further studies at Private University before this my journey at government institutions experience.


I am very proud to be a part of Universiti Tenaga Nasional. The reason is, in this university has students from mixed/ various culture over the world which has the opportunities to learn with them. The lecturer is very experienced from education and industry link background which the lecture is based on industry practice especially in utilities industry such as Tenaga Nasional Berhad(TNB) from my review and relevant to their expertise. Most of the lectures are very good, humble and very good in moral support. I am very encouraged to all potential UNITEN student as a University of Choice is to gain the knowledge for post-graduate studies and i have my personal experienced which is I  never get in at government university.

The guide for your Postgraduate studies, Make sure you are ready in terms of:

1. Financial support (especially in entry fees and recurring semester fees)
2. Mental Preparation (Make ready to learn again especially for workers)
3. Your time and commitment (sacrifice you time) - especially if u are required to attend the classes after working hour or weekend
4. The field to be Explore (in my case: Electrical Engineering)
5. The mode of Studies (course work/ mix mode or full research)
7. Believe to Your Ability! (You have to complete with passionate from what you have started)

In my case,
I do some research on various selected university, their field, fees and education quality.

I decided to further my studies in mix mode consist of course work and research (50:50). I further studies as part-time  and at the same time I am still working at education industry with the quite high commitment required me to deal and meeting with university top management frequently.

With selected mode of studies, I learn a lot of technology used in TNB with experience/ expert lecturer. In my first time experience, in one subject I have to have at least 3 lecturer different expertise which consist of industry practicing and educator. I am so proud! Quite shock for the first time because the marking skill also differs with different lecturer for the topic cover by the respective lecturer or Dr. Engineer.

After finished my all coursework consist of 7 subjects with entitled credit hour is 19 credit hour and the research is 21 credit hour to fulfill before graduate. I am very lucky to have very supportive research supervisor and very proudly.

Basic knowledge to start your research is:
Please do your research interest as much as you can by do your related research review from any related paper suit with your interest if possible use the latest article/journal, decide your area of your interest, set research objective, set your research method and tool to be used, and consistent focus during do your research and ensure is on track match your objective set, always discuss your progress and update with your supervisor, make sure during research process please start your writing to make you can achieve your expected completion of studies. Try to find any conference to present and publish your first paper if your institution required to publish the paper as a requirement for graduation. If you are ready, please prepare yourself for viva session after thesis writing is completed with appropriate checking by submitting your copy of the thesis to postgraduate studies center to process your viva ceremony.

As preparation before VIVA, please do your mock-viva with your supervisor or any appointed mock-viva assessor to prepare yourself before actual viva ceremony.... In my case, during viva ceremony, I am very nervous which make my speechless, in addition, a lot of question raised up from examiner...so my advice, please prepare yourself with relevant info/ your research strength from what have you studied especially YOU MUST KNOW YOUR RESEARCH to defense during the question raised up.

Hint:
Please study your research interest, the lecturer expertise, your ability and try to gather information of lecturer background for the best research assistance and guidance to make your research journey fun and helpful.

Proton Power Window Faulted

Hampir Seminggu aku perhatikan yang power window dibahagian driver ada masalah semasa hendak turunkan cerman berbunyi Ketak, Ketak, Ketak tetapi bila mahu naikkan cermain ia smooth. Ingatkan ianya hanya sementara tetapi dah berhari-hari menunggu kononnya akan hilang tetapi frust juga la...sama jer

So, aku rasa tidak selesa, as usual I love my car such as my wife hahahha even though i am single hahahahhahaha. On 12/03/2017 (Sunday).... i am trying google workshop around melaka which workshop open on the weekend... its quite difficult actually.... So apa lagi aku cari la kt google cuba nasib...Alhamdulillah dapat jumpa bengkel melayu buka on weekend ahad lagi dari facebook fanpage dorg...iaitu di kawasan Taman Lesung Batu Jaya Utama berhampiran dengan CH Trading Market di Pengkalan, Alor Gajah.

Apa lagi aku terus telefon kedai dan dia bagi tahu kedai dah buka, so apa lagi aku memecutkan kereta ke kedai tersebut la...yela on the next weekend aku kena pergi ke negeri pantai timur sebab ada program kalo power window tidak berfungsi susah juga sebab kereta bukan tingkap manual hehehe dan tambahan lagi jika hendak bayar tol agak leceh nanti.

Sampai di kedai,  kedai tersebut macam baru dan tidak banyak barang..... rasa dalam hati macam salah kedai tapi tabahkan hati dan cuba nasib..... so foreman cuba tengok masalah power window aku dan foreman tersebut memberi tahu ada masalah dengan regulator pada awalnya....Tetapi untuk makluman boleh dikatakan semua foreman akan asyik tengok telifon semasa repair kereta di bengkel tetapi tidak pasti sebabnya maybe semua foreman baru kot masih dalam proses pembelajaran<<<bersangka baik.

Selepas itu, foreman yang check kereta aku tanggalkan bahagian yang rosak untuk ditukar part baru tetapi sebelum itu dia macam menelifon orang bertanyakan berkenaan part yang ingin ditukar maybe ingin membeli part dari kedai lain...yela macam aku bagi tahu tadi stor dia agak kosong yang banyak ada pon macam minyak enjin....Lama juga kena menunggu lebih kurang 30minutes+++ baru barang sampai.

sampai jer, foreman  tu inform bukan regulator yang rosak tetapi power window motor yang rosak sebenarnya mayb dia discuss and bertanya dengan kedai lain kottt.... dan dia pon tukar la power window motor tu sekadar segera.

Foreman tu pon tukar power window motor (aku tengok packing ini dia guna power window proton saga lah) dan memberi tahu harga sama macam harga regulator iaitu RM120.00 dan harga upah RM20.00 (murah sangat la harga upah ni) kalo kedai lain upah dah mencecah minimum RM50.00... Syukur alhamdulillah power window aku sudah berfungsi dengan baik seperti sedia kala....Hilanglah bunyi ketak, ketak, ketak dan boleh drive ke pantai timur dengan rasa bahagia & selesa.....Thanks abang foreman walaupun barang tidak banyak di stor tapi ada good network to find the stock from others worksshop...Good Job.

Pembelian Langsir di Nilai 3 & Perkakasan Permulaan Rumah

Disini saya hendak kongsi sedikit kos - kos yang dikeluarkan oleh saya untuk setup asas keperluan rumah baru....

Pertama,
Aku menempah langsir jenis blackout di Nilai 3 iaitu di kedai ST Home. Harga semeter dalam RM45.00 setelah meminta pengurangan yang mana harga termasuk harga upah jahit menggunakan konsep eyelet type. Harga adalah untuk langsir di ruang tamu dan bilik master jer yang mana jumlah keseluruhan ~RM1060.00. Tetapi untuk bilik No. 2 hingga bilik No. 4 aku guna langsir yang murah sikit iaitu berharga RM25.00 semeter yang mana jumlah keseluruhan untuk 3 bilik adalah RM165.00 termasuk kos upah jahit jenit French Pleat. Masa jahit juga agak cepat lebih kurang~2jam jer bergantung berapa banyak langsir hendak dijahit dan bentuk/jenis jahitan. Aku juga membeli roller curtain blind untuk window panel sinki dapur yang berharga RM60.00 untuk 5' setelah dapat kurang dari harga asal kalo tak salah RM180.00 (kena survey baik-baik sebab ada kedai caj mahal)...So dapat jimat banyak sangat untuk item ini...

Kedua,
Aku Membeli curtain rod (jenis kayu) di kedai DIY sebab murah setelah survey banyak kedai dan ini yang aku rasa yang agak murah iaitu untuk 7 batang curtain rod untuk pasang semua bilik aku habis sekitar RM240.00 jer yang mana budget aku dalam RM300.00++ so dapatlah jimat RM50.00.

Ketiga,
Aku menempah grill rumah untuk sekeliling rumah yang mana berkonsepkan modern pattern berjumlah RM2, 500.00 memang cantek tapi ini harga sedara lah sebab yang buat grill abang iparku sendiri hehehehe...so dapatlah jimat lagi. Dan Harga pasang 5' x 25' awning di belakang rumah berharga RM850.00, So jumlah keseluruhan grill dan awning ialah RM3, 350.00

Kelima,
Untuk Pembelian Perabot aku telah habis sekitar RM8, 900.00 yang mana kos termasuk Set Perabot siap dengan recliner chairs, coffee table, cabinet tv bagi Living hall , set bilik tidur lengkap untuk master room, set bilik tidur untuk bilik ibuku (bilik kedua) dan Marble Dinner table. Kemudian beli peralatan rumah ikut budget anda e.g: TV, fridge, stove, washing machine, iron board dll. Tapi aku beli ikut kemampuan dan keperluan serta ikut turutan yang pentig didahulukan biasalah kos semua kena tanggung sorg sebab masih bujang hehehe.

Keenam,
Peralatan dan Perkakasan yang lain juga anda perlu standby contoh nyer nak masuk aircond, rumput karpet, kitchen cabinet, accessories rumah dan sebagainya <<<< yang ini hanya mengikut keperluan dan kemampuan anda ye... Yang pasti jangan membazir sebab jika salah perancangan anda akan mengalami kesempitan wang untuk perbelanjaan anda .... Nasihat saya fikirlah sebelum berbelanja dan lagi satu beli ikut keperluan yang utama dahulu.

Tambahan lagi anda juga kena bayar installment loan rumah, insurans rumah jika ada,cukai pintu (kalo saya kena bayar ldari nilai rumah RM430.00 setahun (cukai ikut jenis rumah dan mengikut negeri) cukai tanah, cukai perparitan & kumbahan(lebih kurang RM33.95 quarterly), utilities dan sebagainya... Beringat sebelum berbelanja ye!
